2012 Ford C-Max

The “One Ford” strategy will be on display at the 2011 Detroit auto show, where Ford will introduce its C-Max mini-minivan to North America. Already an established nameplate in Europe, the C-Max is considered an MPV, a multi-purpose vehicle that combines sedan and minivan attributes on a C-class car platform. Stateside, the most natural competitor is the Mazda5, an affordable, versatile family hauler that deserves better sales figures.

Sized like the original minivans at 178-inches long, the C-Max is a three-row, seven-seat vehicle. The second-row seats slide, recline, and fold flat, enabling flexible configurations to meet varying passenger and cargo demands. The third-row folds flat, as well. In the video, you can see how a fold-out cargo floor makes for a flat surface across the second and third rows. Access is made simple with an elevated ride height and sliding second-row door.

The end of Big Oil? Not so fast.

FORTUNE -- Big Oil may be going out of style, but it is certainly not going away.
With major players like ConocoPhillips (COP) and Marathon (MRO) splitting up, industry leaders and the market are starting to question the model of the huge, integrated oil company that handles every portion of the business, from plumbing crude out of the ground to selling it at the gas tank.

WoW!!!

This Is Why You Don’t Mess With Raptors

If "Jurassic Park" taught me anything, it's that Velociraptors are terrifyingly awesome. So hearing Sam Neil give that classic speech brings me right back to that fascination. And the terror. Don't forget the terror.

A "TOMA" moment.....

Imagine you get a flat and the tire is fawked, and you don't know about this...

The Chevrolet Cruze has made headlines for its above-average fuel economy, especially for its fuel-sipping Eco model. But GM, Chevrolet’s parent company, has announced that to make the Cruze Eco even more fuel efficient it must dropped pounds wherever possible. One thing to go was the Cruze’s spare tire. According to a GM press release, the 2011 Cruze Eco will not come standard with a traditional compact spare tire and wheel. Instead, Chevrolet will replace the spare tire, wheel and jack with an on-board tire inflator kit, which the automaker says will be able to re-pressurize tires and inject a sealant to close up any puncture holes.
